Iran poised to outpace regional petroleum part builders

An Iranian oil official said Saturday Iran is bracing to become the leading regional producer of petroleum parts and items in the near future.
Speaking to Shana on the sidelines of the 21st Iran International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals, Deputy Oil Minister for Research and Technology Mohammadreza Moqaddam said Iran is ready to win the regional market for petroleum items in the near future.
"Iran has taken similar measures in the past but what is important for the time being is the efforts to materialize an initiative to localize ten groups of key items in the petroleum industry that will help Iran win the regional market of the products in the near future," he said.
The 21st Iran International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals will run through May 8 at Tehran's international fairgrounds. Nearly 2,000 exhibiting companies from 38 countries have put their latest oil and gas achievements on display at the event.
